ALSPEC joins Team 18 as a major sponsor for The Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 500

We are very excited to further our partnership and secure naming rights sponsor of Team 18 Supercar at the 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 and the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 in October.

The Alspec Racing Supercar was launched at Alspec’s Victorian distribution centre in Dandenong, yesterday where Scott Pye drove the car into the warehouse and showed it off to sales and warehouse staff. ( see below video)

The #20 Alspec Racing Holden ZB Commodore will carry an all-new green livery with the Alspec “Everything Aluminium’ logo to be driven by Scott Pye at the Bathurst 1000, where he will be joined by Tyler Everingham as co-driver, and the Gold Coast 500 on the streets of Surfers Paradise

The Alspec Racing Team 18 Supercar’s livery, which was brought to life by PPG Paint and Ball & Doggett vinyl, will also race with major support from Toyota Forklifts, Nulon, Yuasa Batteries, Hino Trucks and Mondiale VGL.

Team 18’s partners BP Ultimate, Kenworth Trucks, Goodyear Fleet, Barry Bourke Motors, Waverley Forklifts, Credence Insurance, Alpinestars, Taubmans, Super Spill Solutions, Bell Collision, K&N Filters, King Springs, D2N Technology Solutions, Authentic Collectables and Bolle Safety also feature on the livery.

Scott Pye will start his 11th Bathurst 1000 and third with Team 18, with two podiums in 2017 and 2018 to his name.

21-year-old Everingham will make his second Great Race start and his first alongside Pye at Team 18. The 2018 V8 Touring Car Champion will be completing double-duties at the mountain, also racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series where he currently sits third for MW Motorsport.

Pye and Everingham will hit the track today in the #20 Alspec Racing Team 18 Supercar for a test day at Winton Motor Raceway before they head to Bathurst next week. On-track action commencing for the 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 on Thursday, October 6.

Scott Pye, driver #20 Alspec Racing Team 18 Holden ZB Commodore

“To have Alspec onboard as naming rights partner is exciting, they’re a great supporter of Team 18 and they’ve been on the car all year.

“Excited for Bathurst, it’s a track everyone looks forward to going to and to see everyone’s face when we revealed the car made it even more special, so I’m looking forward to getting up to the mountain next week.

"Our preparation for the great race has been really good, for us as a group it’s been a huge focus of ours for a long time. This season has had its challenges, so we like to focus on Bathurst and try and turn our season around with a fantastic result there.

“For me personally, having finished second there a couple of times, I don’t really want to do that again. I’d love to stand on the top step, and to do it with Tyler [Everingham] and Alspec would be a great feeling come Sunday afternoon.

“The car looks fantastic; I saw the renders a little bit earlier and to see it come to life is really cool. The car looks great, the green works well, one of my most successful go karts was bright green so I’m excited to have that back on board and I just can’t wait to get it on track at the mountain.”

Tyler Everingham, co-driver #20 Alspec Racing Team 18 Holden ZB Commodore

“It’s been a cool experience to unveil the Alspec Racing livery for Bathurst here at Alspec’s Melbourne distribution centre, there’s a great group of people here and they’ve been very welcoming to the team, so we’re super excited to head to Bathurst with the Alspec livery onboard.

“Our preparation has been great, our test day at Winton will be extremely valuable and then we’ll charge on to Bathurst next week. It will be a busy day, but all these laps will be crucial to ensure we’re ready to take on the mountain.

“Scott [Pye] is extremely experienced so it will be good to soak up as much as I can and work with the team for a strong result at The Great Race.”

Paul Nakhle, Managing Director and CEO- ALSPEC.

“Alspec are proud to step up our involvement and launch the Alspec Racing Supercar for the most iconic motor race in Australia, the Bathurst 1000.”

“Team 18 and Alspec go hand-in-hand. We research, design, test and develop our products to push the limits and Team 18 continue to push the limits in the best touring car championship in the world.

“Bathurst and Gold Coast are two of the biggest races on the Australian motorsport calendar, to have our brand on show is an exciting moment for our customers and staff who join us in this program.”

“Alspec would like to wish Scott, Tyler and Team 18 all the best in their great race campaign and for the Gold Coast 500.”
