Part of a masterplan spanning more than two decades, Quay reflects the growing demand for inner-city living and contributes to Brisbane’s urban renewal strategy in collaboration with the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.

Design Brief & Inspiration

The vision for Quay was to create a sophisticated residential building that seamlessly integrates with its riverfront setting while offering durability and performance suited to Brisbane’s subtropical climate. The design prioritised expansive views, natural light, and energy efficiency, aligning with Mirvac’s commitment to sustainable urban living.

Alspec Systems Utilised

To meet the architectural and performance requirements, the following Alspec systems were specified:

• – ProGlide High Performance Sliding Door
  Configuration: Large-format sliding doors to maximise views and indoor-outdoor connectivity.
• – Hunter EVO 150mm Double Glazed Framing
  Configuration: Robust framing system delivering superior thermal performance and structural integrity.
• – Swan EVO
  Configuration: Commercial-grade framing for fixed and operable panels.
• – Awning Windows
  Configuration: Integrated for ventilation and weather protection.

Frame Colour: DGL Monument Flat (9069171F / 906C7C001C)
Hardware: High-performance commercial hardware for durability and ease of operation.
Glass: Double-glazed units for acoustic and thermal efficiency.

Challenges & Solutions

The project required a façade solution that could withstand Brisbane’s climate while delivering a sleek, modern aesthetic. Alspec systems provided:
