Innovative Commercial Design Meets Riverfront Renewal – Hamilton, QLD
Overview
Located within the dynamic Northshore Brisbane Technology Park (BTP), 393 Macarthur Avenue represents the next evolution in suburban commercial office design. Developed through a strategic partnership between Alceon and Graystone, this project contributes to the transformation of Northshore Brisbane from a historical industrial port into a vibrant, mixed-use city precinct.
As part of Economic Development Queensland’s (EDQ) masterplan, the building sits within a 50-hectare precinct that includes 1.2 kilometres of undeveloped Brisbane River frontage. The development reflects EDQ’s commitment to sustainable urban renewal through private sector collaboration.
Architectural Vision
Blight Rayner Architecture was appointed to deliver a design that balances modernity with heritage. The building’s form and materiality pay homage to the area’s maritime past, while embracing contemporary architectural principles. The use of sustainable building products and refined finishes enhances both the aesthetic and functional qualities of the space, promoting workplace productivity and brand presence.
Alspec Systems Integration
To meet the project’s performance and design requirements, Alspec’s Hunter EVO 150mm suite was specified in both single and double glazed configurations. This system was selected for its ability to deliver high structural performance, thermal efficiency, and design flexibility—key considerations for commercial office environments.
The framing was finished in Dulux Electro Dark Bronze Flat (906-8184F), a sophisticated colour choice that complements the building’s urban character and premium façade detailing.
Outcome
393 Macarthur Avenue offers a high-quality, urban front-of-house for suburban-based and international businesses alike. Positioned within a green, open precinct, the development provides a compelling blend of style, sustainability, and strategic location—making it a benchmark for future commercial projects in Queensland.
