Located in the centre of one of Sydney’s fastest-growing communities, Oran Park Hotel has been designed as a modern hospitality hub that combines durability, functionality, and architectural refinement.
Alspec systems were integral to delivering robust glazing and door solutions capable of withstanding high patron traffic while maintaining a refined, contemporary aesthetic.
Recognised as a 2026 Finalist in the AGWA Design Awards, the project reflects a successful balance of performance, design, and long-term reliability.
The brief called for the design and fabrication of a highly durable window and door system for a busy community venue. The solution needed to deliver a solid, elegant appearance while incorporating robust hardware and high-performance glazing to handle continuous use across multiple hospitality zones.
A consistent Satin Black finish was selected across all systems, reinforcing the venue’s cohesive architectural identity.
Alspec Systems & Configurations
A broad suite of Alspec systems was specified to meet the varying functional and design requirements across the project:
- – Hawkesbury Multi-Folding Door System: Installed to the rooftop bar, enabling wide, uninterrupted openings that enhance patron flow and create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
- – Swan Door System: Utilised for all sliding and hinged door applications, delivering reliable performance in high-use environments.
- – MacArthur Evo 100mm & 150mm Framing: Providing structural strength and clean sightlines across internal and external glazing zones.
- – Hunter Evo 150 DG Framing: Specified for large spans requiring increased strength and improved thermal performance.
- – Automated & Manual Gas Strut Servery Windows: Designed to optimise service efficiency while enhancing interaction between internal bar areas and external seating.
Design Approach
The architectural vision focused on delivering a welcoming, resilient venue that could accommodate high visitation and varied usage. Large-format glazing, operable systems, and consistent framing were key to achieving open, flexible spaces that adapt to different functions throughout the day and evening.
The rooftop bar exemplifies this approach, where expansive opening systems and durable framing create a premium outdoor experience without compromising structural integrity.
Challenges & Solutions
The project presented several technical challenges, particularly in scale and installation:
- – Large-Format Glazing Installation: Oversized frames and glazing panels in the function spaces required precise coordination during fabrication and installation to maintain alignment and structural performance.
- – Rooftop Glazing Installation: Elevated installation conditions introduced complexities related to access, safety, and environmental exposure.
Alspec’s engineered systems provided the strength and adaptability required to overcome these challenges, ensuring efficient installation and long-term reliability.
Oran Park Hotel sets a new benchmark for contemporary hospitality design in Western Sydney. Through the integration of Alspec’s high-performance systems, the project successfully delivers a durable, visually cohesive, and highly functional environment.
From the expansive rooftop openings to the detailed servery interfaces, the result is a venue that enhances both operational efficiency and the user experience—demonstrating the versatility and capability of Alspec’s window and door solutions in demanding, high-traffic applications.
