The brief for the Steendyk Residence centred on creating a refined, light-filled living environment that maximised indoor-outdoor connectivity while maintaining a strong architectural identity. A key challenge was to deliver a glazing solution that not only elevated the aesthetic appeal of the home but also offered effortless functionality for everyday use.

Alspec Systems & Solutions

To meet these requirements, the architect selected Alspec’s ProGlide High Performance Sliding Door system, configured as corner stacking doors. This configuration allows for expansive openings that dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior spaces, enhancing natural ventilation and spatial flow.

Complementing the sliding doors are Breezway Louvre Galleries, which further promote airflow and contribute to the home’s passive cooling strategy.
